The Entrepreneurship in Construction Program at Ideal Institute of Technology is a comprehensive 1575-clock-hour training program designed for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to start and operate their own construction-related businesses. This program combines essential business management training with hands-on construction skills, preparing students to succeed in the dynamic construction industry.
Participants will gain expertise in building maintenance, construction project management, and business operations. The program also offers practical experience in managing innovative projects such as tiny home construction. Additionally, students can participate in a paid Work-Based Learning opportunity to further enhance their skills and industry knowledge.
This program is structured into seven 225-clock-hour courses that provide a balanced education in entrepreneurship, construction skills, and business management:
- EP110: Entrepreneurship 1 (225 clock hours)
Learn the fundamentals of starting and running a business, including business planning, financial management, and market analysis. - EP120: Entrepreneurship 2 (225 clock hours)
Build on your entrepreneurial knowledge with advanced topics such as marketing strategies, customer acquisition, and scaling a business. - CO100: Building Maintenance Certification Part I (225 clock hours)
Acquire essential skills in building maintenance, including safety, tools, and basic repair techniques. - CO110: Building Maintenance Certification Part II (225 clock hours)
Advance your knowledge in plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC maintenance. - EP150: Construction Business Operation and Management 1 (225 clock hours)
Learn the basics of managing a construction business, including project planning, budgeting, and resource management. - EP160: Construction Business Operation and Management 2 (225 clock hours)
Gain advanced skills in construction business management, focusing on leadership, risk management, and client relationships. - CO150: Tiny Home Construction Management (225 clock hours)

- Eligibility: Maintain a 90% attendance rate, complete 450 clock hours, and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Hourly Pay: $16–$22 per hour.
- Work Hours: 10–20 hours per week.
