The Appliance and Electromechanical Equipment Repair Program at Ideal Institute of Technology is a 1125-clock-hour hands-on training program that prepares students for in-demand careers in residential, commercial, and smart appliance repair. From traditional appliances to advanced IoT-connected devices and HVAC systems, this program provides comprehensive training in diagnostics, repair, and business readiness.
Students also gain entrepreneurial skills and real-world experience through a Paid Work-Based Learning Opportunity, helping them transition into jobs or start their own repair businesses.
What Will I Learn?
Program Outline
This program includes five 225-clock-hour modules:
- CE510: Foundations of Appliance Repair
Learn basic appliance operations, safety, diagnostics, and hands-on repair of standard home appliances. - CE520: Electromechanical Systems
Understand how motors, electrical circuits, sensors, and mechanical components work together in modern equipment. - CE530: Advanced Residential Appliance & IoT Repair
Work with smart appliances and troubleshoot software-driven issues in connected home devices. - CE540: Commercial Equipment, HVAC & Controls
Gain experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment, laundry systems, HVAC units, and control panels. - CE550: Smart Systems, Diagnostics & Capstone
Focus on advanced diagnostics, system integration, and complete a real-world capstone project to showcase your skills.
