Overview
The Construction Specialist with Carpentry Certification program at Ideal Institute of Technology is a comprehensive 1575-clock-hour training program designed for individuals seeking a successful career in residential and commercial construction, with a specialized focus on carpentry.
This program offers in-depth instruction in core construction skills, including blueprint reading, site preparation, framing, finishing, roofing, drywall, and interior/exterior systems. Students will receive nationally recognized certifications such as NCCER Core Curriculum, NCCER Carpentry Levels 1–3, and the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, ensuring they are equipped with the credentials required by today’s job market.
Over the course of 225 hours, students will gain hands-on experience in:
- Interpreting construction drawings and understanding building codes
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Constructing basic wood structures and framing
- Installing doors, windows, and trim
- Applying construction math and measurement skills
Practicing safety protocols aligned with OSHA 30 standards
