The Construction Specialist with HVAC Certification Program at Ideal Institute of Technology is a 1575-clock-hour training program designed to equip students with the skills and certifications required for a successful career in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems and construction. This program combines in-depth classroom instruction with hands-on learning, preparing students to excel in residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC applications.
In addition to HVAC expertise, students will learn essential building maintenance skills and gain valuable experience in managing unique construction projects, such as tiny homes. Students also have the opportunity to participate in a paid Work-Based Learning program, providing real-world experience in the construction and HVAC fields.
- This program includes seven 225-clock-hour courses, offering a comprehensive curriculum that combines foundational knowledge, technical skills, and real-world applications:
- CO100: Building Maintenance Certification Part I (225 clock hours)
Gain essential building maintenance skills, including safety, tools, materials, and basic repair techniques. - CO110: Building Maintenance Certification Part II (225 clock hours)
Advance your knowledge in building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC maintenance. - CO140: HVAC Level 1 (225 clock hours)
Learn the fundamentals of HVAC systems, including installation, safety, and basic troubleshooting techniques. - CO270: HVAC Level 2 (225 clock hours)
Build on your foundational knowledge with advanced HVAC topics, such as refrigerants, air distribution, and system diagnostics. - CO280: HVAC Level 3 (225 clock hours)
Explore complex HVAC systems, focusing on energy efficiency, advanced troubleshooting, and sustainable system design. - CO290: HVAC Level 4 (225 clock hours)

Students who meet the program’s eligibility requirements can gain practical experience through a Paid Work-Based Learning Opportunity.
- Eligibility: Maintain a 90% attendance rate, complete 450 clock hours, and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Hourly Pay: $16–$22 per hour.
- Work Hours: 10–20 hours per week.
