PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Construction Trades course at Ideal Institute of Technology is a 225-hour training program designed to prepare students for entry-level positions across a range of construction trades. This program provides a comprehensive introduction to essential construction skills, safety protocols, and trade-specific knowledge, making it an excellent starting point for careers in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and more.
Over the course of 225 hours, students will gain hands-on experience in:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Understanding the fundamentals of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems
- Applying construction math and measurement skills
- Practicing safe work habits aligned with OSHA 30 standards
- Exploring trade-specific modules to identify areas of interest and specialization
- Preparing for and achieving NCCER Core Certification, which is the foundational certification for all construction trades
