PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Learn the fundamentals you need to ace the CompTIA IT Fundamentals (FC0-U61) exam. Passing the exam earns you the ITF+ certification, designed for advanced users considering a career in IT. This certification is a great entry point for novices transitioning to IT pros. The course covers computer basics, hardware, and operating systems. Our instructor helps you identify the components of a computer, connect devices and peripherals, set up data storage, and recognize the commonalities of different operating systems.
PROGRAM PREREQUISITES:
Students taking this course should be familiar with personal computers, the use of a keyboard and a mouse. Furthermore, this course assumes that you have completed one of the following courses:
- Windows 7: Basic
- Windows 10: Basic
Must have: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
Must score: 10 or higher in CASAS
- Identify and understand basic computer components and what they do
- Understand operating systems, data storage, and sharing
- Set up and configure a basic computer workstation
- Work with applications and files
- Handle basic software installation
- Set up and configure a mobile device
- Connect to networks and the Internet
- Identify/prevent basic security risks
- Identify compatibility issues
- Understand safety and preventative maintenance of computers
- Understand basic database concepts
- Learn the fundamentals of programming code and languages
Ideal Institute of Technology will provide a one-time voucher for student to take the CompTIA IT Fundamentals FC0-U61 Certification exam.
Student will have access to all necessary equipment and supplies such as Desktops, Laptops, Multimeter, Screw Drivers and other tools to work with computers for the duration of the course.
Student will have full access to our Learning Management System (LMS) portal, Google Classroom and Live Webinars. We will be providing resources in the form of PowerPoints, video tutorials, quizzes, assessments and much more.

After successful completion of Apple tech certification program and obtaining certification(s), A Job Readiness program and a free Resume Building Workshop will be offered to student through Ideal Career Centre, to prepare students for their job search.

Many IT careers are Help-Desk or support positions, Network Specialists, Computer Hardware and support specialists, IT Technicians. Common duties include monitoring networks, documenting network problems, and providing technical support for company personnel.
