PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Carpentry Basics course at Ideal Institute of Technology is a 225-hour training program designed to introduce students to the essential skills of the carpentry trade. This course prepares individuals for entry-level roles in the construction industry with a strong foundation in safety, hand and power tool use, and construction techniques. It includes preparation for the NCCER Carpentry Level 1 Certification, NCCER Core Certification, and OSHA 30 safety training.
Over the course of 225 hours, students will gain hands-on experience in:
- Interpreting construction drawings and understanding building codes
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Constructing basic wood structures and framing
- Installing doors, windows, and trim
- Applying construction math and measurement skills
- Practicing safety protocols aligned with OSHA 30 standards
- Certifications:
- NCCER Carpentry Level 1 Certification
- NCCER Core Certification
- OSHA 30 Certification
- NCCER Carpentry Level 1 Certification
