PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Security+ program is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the dynamic field of cybersecurity. Developed by CompTIA, a leading provider of IT certifications, this program covers a wide range of topics essential for securing systems, networks, and data in today’s digital landscape. The program begins with foundational concepts, ensuring participants have a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities. From there, it delves into more advanced topics, including encryption, access control, identity management, and risk management. Participants will learn how to assess security risks, implement effective security measures, and respond to security incidents.
PROGRAM PREREQUISITES:
Students taking this course should be familiar with personal computers, the use of a keyboard and a mouse. Furthermore, this course assumes that you have completed one of the following courses:
- Windows 7: Basic
- Windows 10: Basic
Must have: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
Must score: 10 or higher in CASAS

Ideal Institute of Technology will provide a one-time voucher for student to take CompTIA Security+ Essentials, exam code SY0-601.
Student will have access to all necessary equipment and supplies such as Desktops, Laptops, Multimeter, Screw Drivers and other tools to work with computers for the duration of the course.
Student will have full access to our Learning Management System (LMS) portal, Google Classroom and Live Webinars. We will be providing resources in the form of PowerPoints, video tutorials, quizzes, assessments, and much more.

After successful completion of certification program and obtaining certification(s), A Job Readiness program and a free Resume Building Workshop will be offered to student through Ideal Career Center, to prepare students for their job search.

Many IT careers are Help-Desk, Network Specialists, Computer Hardware Support Specialist, IT Technicians, and Cyber Security Analyst. Common duties include monitoring networks, documenting network problems, and providing technical support for company personnel.
