PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Electrical Assistant course at Ideal Institute of Technology is a 225-hour training program designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the electrical trade. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of electrical systems, safety, and best practices essential for working on residential and light commercial electrical projects.
Over the course of 225 hours, students will gain hands-on experience in:
- Understanding electrical theory, including voltage, current, and resistance
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical circuits
- Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and diagrams
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Practicing safe work habits aligned with OSHA 30 standards
- Preparing for and achieving NCCER Electrical Level 1 Certification
- Certifications:
- NCCER Core Certification
- OSHA 30 Certification
- NCCER Electrical Level 1 Certification
- Supplies:
- Access to classroom labs, electrical tools, and equipment
