PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Government Contracting course at Ideal Institute of Technology is a 225-hour training program designed to prepare students and small business owners to pursue opportunities in federal, state, and local government contracting. This course introduces the essential concepts, processes, and compliance requirements needed to successfully bid on and manage government contracts.
Over the course of 225 hours, students will gain practical knowledge and experience in:
- Understanding government procurement processes and regulations
- Navigating SAM registration and acquiring a DUNS number
- Identifying and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations for Bids (IFBs)
- Preparing proposals and managing contract compliance
- Learning about socioeconomic certifications such as 8(a), HUBZone, and WOSB
- Exploring financial management, reporting, and auditing requirements
- Applying safe business practices and managing digital assets securely
