PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Plumbing Basics course at Ideal Institute of Technology is a 225-hour training program designed to equip students with the foundational skills required to start a career in the plumbing trade. This course introduces students to the essential knowledge and hands-on skills needed for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting plumbing systems in residential and light commercial settings.
Over the course of 225 hours, students will gain hands-on experience in:
- Installing and repairing water supply and drainage systems
- Reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints and construction drawings
- Understanding plumbing codes and regulations
- Using plumbing tools and materials safely and effectively
- Practicing safe work habits aligned with OSHA 30 standards
- Certifications:
- NCCER Core Certification
- OSHA 30 Certification
- NCCER Plumbing Level 1 Certification
- Supplies:
- Access to classroom labs, plumbing equipment, and hands-on workshops
- Required textbooks and online resources provided by IITNJ
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) recommended for lab activities
